Behind The Design (BTD)
The development of Pius emerged from a fundamental insight: while health and fitness apps are abundant, most require active engagement through traditional touch interfaces, creating friction in moments when users need quick information most. As the sole designer on this groundbreaking project, I set out to create an AI health companion that would seamlessly integrate into users' daily routines through voice-first interaction.
The design process began with extensive research into user pain points with existing health apps. Key findings revealed that users often abandoned health tracking apps due to the tedious nature of manual data entry and the interruption of their daily flow. This led to the core concept of Pius: a sophisticated AI companion that users could simply talk to naturally, eliminating the barrier between intention and action.
